Submitted by Greg Johnson on July 22, 2008 - 3:01pm.

We thank everyone who participated in this valuable survey.  We will be producing a white paper on results of this survey in the weeks to come.  A very key statistic we were able to identify is that over 70% of administrators surveyed cannot restore their GroupWise system in under 12 hours, While the other 30% can restore their systems in less than 2 hours.

Find out how they do it.

Reload is really simple to set up. A lot of customers just use the wizard, do some backups, restore some e-mail and they walk away from the Reload server feeling as though they are about two inches off the floor.

There is so much more that you can do with Reload though with a little bit more effort.

If you are a consultant, or new to Reload, here is a high-level list of things you should consider doing when implementing your Reload server:

If you do not have a consultant you are welcome to contact your GWAVA Salesperson for a quote for off-site (remote access) consulting with me (Tay Kratzer) the developer of Reload.

RESTORING MAIL

Last week I was at a customer site training 8 different administrators for a large organization that has recently obtained GWAVA Reload. One of the administrators was bemoaning that for the last two weeks since they have had Reload installed, no one has asked for her to restore something. She's already played around with Reload and seen how she can restore mail in a matter of two minutes, so she's just itching for someone to call, so she can be the hero. Here's a video demonstrating just how easy it is to use Reload:

Implementing Reload for off-site disaster recovery

I've worked with two customers as of late in conjunction with the customers
implementing Remote Reload profiles. I also was training a GWAVA reseller on
the East coast of the U.S. and was explaining just how he should implement
Reload for maximum gain for disaster recovery purposes for a large bank
implementation.

First off, an explanation of this concept. Disasters can be of two different
kinds. There are server disasters, and site disasters.

Server disasters are more common and they can include things such as hardware

GWAVA and Nexic Create First Integrated Backup and Archive Service for GroupWise

Submitted by WebWise on June 6, 2006 - 4:05pm.

GWAVA and Nexic have announced their first service since forming a partnership: Quick Restore. With Quick Restore, Novell GroupWise end-users have vitally important data backup and archiving functionality integrated with the ability to immediately restore such data, all from within the GroupWise client. This integration of Nexic's Discovery functionality with GWAVA's Reload capabilities offers enterprises using GroupWise the most efficient way to restore offline information, reducing a process that used to take up to 24 hours to mere seconds.

"Organizations need to backup data and they need to archive information for a wide variety of business critical and compliance reasons," said Charles Taite, CTO of GWAVA. "The Quick Restore integration of Nexic Discovery and GWAVA Reload creates the first-ever integrated offline restore functionality of archived or backed-up data from within the GroupWise client."

Money, money, money. I'm sure you have a lot of it padding your IT budget. If you are like most organizations, you need to evaluate many different issues before making an IT purchase in order to spend your money wisely. Initial costs to purchase the software from some vendors may not be the final costs you end up spending to implement their product. Identifying the proper strategy for each archiving need can save money in the long term.

When deciding what email retention solution will meet the various needs your organization has, several issues should be considered:
