2.3 Million Names Stolen from Utah Hospital
Submitted by Greg Johnson on June 10, 2008 - 11:57pm.
In Utah today the University Medical Center had a set of back up tapes stolen
from a couriers car. The backup tapes contained more than 2.3 million names
with over 1.3 million social security numbers.
Knowing that many of us use a variety of resources to retain data we might
want to take a look into our own processes to make sure a disaster such as this
does not happen to any of our companies, firms or agencies.
