When you have a Linux server, getting simple remote access to all of the Linux server's disk drive(s) from a Windows workstation is almost impossible. I should say "was" almost impossible.

Yesterday I was introduced to a great free file manager that you can run on Windows, and manage Linux server filesystems with.

The utility is called: WINSCP.

The name of the utility isn't all that friendly, but don't let it's name deter you, it's a very intuitive utility to use. It's actually an SSH client, that presents the Linux server to you as a file system. As such, make sure that you can access your Linux server on port 22.

Here is the URL to the WINSCP utility:

http://winscp.net

With this utility, you will find Linux far more friendly and usable from your familiar Windows environment.
