Riva Identity Integration for GroupWise and Active Directory

Canadian software vendor, Omni, developed Riva Identity Integration to allow users to leverage Active Directory as their GroupWise user management and authentication system.

Riva transparently synchronises Active Directory user and mail group information to eDirectory and GroupWise. Instead of having to to use two user management applications – Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to manage users in Active Directory and ConsoleOne to manage GroupWise and eDirectory accounts – all user creation and management can be carried out in MMC. Many companies continue to rely on GroupWise for email collaboration independent of whether they are migrating from NetWare to Windows or whether they are already using other Windows servers for authentication. After only 15 minutes of installation, Riva automatically synchronizes the user data between Active Directory and eDirectory and GroupWise.

With this user data being managed in Active Directory, both Active Directory and eDirectory can be centrally managed from MMC. Riva Identity Integration synchronises Active Directory attributes like account status, contact details, address, phone numbers and others to eDirectory and GroupWise. Changes to accounts and email groups happen seamlessly and are transparently synchronized to eDirectory and GroupWise. Riva Identity Integration can do even more – it can also be used by third-party developers who need to integrate Active Directory-aware applications with GroupWise.

"Almost every company's IT environment has heterogeneous systems which make account management difficult. Riva Identity Integration delivers a lean and easy-to-use solution. It unifies and helps to finally connect IT islands," says Dr.-Ing. Thomas M. Fleissner, Omni Deutschland. "Riva implements the 'Power of Simplicity' and allows companies to work with the systems of their choice and avoid unnecessary infrastructure investments."
