This is our 5th year in the US for GWAVACon and our 10th GWAVACon worldwide.

This is our 5th year in the US for GWAVACon and our 10th GWAVACon worldwide. The conference is still focused on Novell GroupWise but has also become a gathering place for other Novell Collaboration Solutions, including ZENworks, Novell Teaming, and now OES.

Each year the event has grown in numbers and influence. Last year, Ron Hovsepian, Novell CEO was the keynote speaker to a packed room. This year in Berlin, Volker Schmid, President of Novell EMEA was the keynote speaker.

The reason people come to GWAVACon is because it is an event like no other.

Dean Lythgoe, Director of Engineering for GroupWise and Teaming had this to say about GWAVACon:

" I have attended, presented sessions, and given a keynote in everyone of the last 5 GWAVACon conferences. Novell further supports these events with GroupWise Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing Managers, NTS folks, Technical Specialists and Novell Executives - including Ron Hovsepian. Outside of these presentations, I spend my time meeting with partners, customers and resellers to answer their questions, provide road maps, and discuss business opportunities and partnerships.

GWAVACon has been focused on the end user experience. No other place brings together the main influencers into such an intimate setting.

BrainShare is the premier event while GWAVACon is the community event. Don't be fooled by the name. GWAVACon is not a GWAVA event.

We have decided that GWAVACon is an acronym that stands for:

GroupWise And Vendors Annual Conference

GWAVACon Entrance Fee

This year has been a new change for GWAVACon. We will be charging a fee for attendance. The cost is $795 USD, with an early-bird cost of $595 if you register before December 5th.

The reason for the fee is due to the success of the GWAVACon event. In years past, GWAVA has provided the event at no cost as a service to the GroupWise community. Now, with the success of the event, it isn't possible for GWAVA to continue to do that. A modest fee for attendance has been introduced, allowing us to maintain the high quality of the event, without sacrificing content.

This year GWAVACon will be the launch of GroupWise 8, a major jump in the end user experience for GroupWise. Novell will be on hand to talk to attendees, deliver sessions, and grant intimate access to their thinking and vision around the product.

Novell Teaming is also making a large splash at GWAVACon.

If you haven't been to GWAVACon, this is the year to come. If you have attended in the past, it isn't necessary for me to tell you why you need to come back.

Be sure to visit www.gwavacon.com to register and attend GWAVACon 2009 in Las Vegas.

And don't forget, register before December 5th to secure the early-bird discount.
